This is one of the best finds I’ve ever had. Super controllable, and capable of anything from 89 centigrade to well over 500 centigrade. Seems nicely made.
It works better on the larger lumps of charcoal than the mini logs or small rocks. The grate isn’t so easy to keep clear of ash, so I hoover it out every now and again (and only when it’s completely cold).
The little stand works well on the ground or a table. I wish I’d bought two of these rather than the one larger one which I bought at our holiday house.

I have used the Kamado Joe JR a few times and my family and I are extremely satisfied. It is incredible how great the food taste not only compared to a gas grill but also compared to other coal grills.
I was pleasantly surprised how easy it is to control the heat.

it’s a cute little egg that does the job really well. Extremely easy to set up, the size is great as a supplement BBQ alongside our bigger gas grill. We wouldn’t need a full sized egg so we’re glad to find this mini egg.
the grill is pretty easy to get up to temp, obviously not as quick as a gas grill but with the right charcoal and flame torch, it’s not that hard to ignite the coal. we also bought smoking wood to add that smokey flavor.
Temp can climb to above 500 easily

Fantastic bbq to add to my collection of Weber BBQs. Kamado Joe jnr does not disappoint. Used almost every day now. Great for upto 6 people when allowed so now gives me time to experiment!
